Software for research
forexexp provides software for analysing supported market data, defining user-selected strategy rules, running simulated backtests and simulated trading. The software does not open or operate brokerage accounts, transmit or execute real orders, trade on a broker’s demo account, copy trades, deliver trading signals or accept money for investment or trading. Software licence charges, if any, are payment for software access, not trading deposits.
Simulated trading stays inside the software
In simulated trading, orders, fills and positions are modelled by the software from recorded or real-time market data. Nothing is sent to a broker or an exchange, and simulated stops, limits and loss controls do not protect any real account. A simulated fill is an estimate: it does not mean the same order could have been filled at that price in the real market.
Independent research decisions
Charts, indicators, templates, example strategies, AI-assisted files and reports are research tools. They do not assess whether a financial instrument or strategy is suitable for your circumstances and are not personal investment advice or an instruction to buy, sell or hold an instrument. You choose the data, rules, parameters and assumptions. Product support covers software use and technical compatibility; it does not select investments for you.
Backtests are simulations
Backtest results represent hypothetical calculations, not a record of actual transactions or returns. They depend on the input data, software version, strategy rules and simulation settings. Actual execution can differ because of liquidity, queue priority, latency, partial fills, rejected orders, spread, slippage, transaction costs, market impact and operational failures. A shared calculation method cannot guarantee achievable prices or matching real-world results.
Historical testing has limitations
Results may be affected by hindsight, parameter selection, overfitting, missing data, timestamp errors and changes in market conditions. A favourable historical sample, an optimisation result or an out-of-sample test does not establish that a strategy will work in the future. Losses and adverse scenarios should be examined alongside any favourable result.
The input data defines what can be analysed
Tick, aggregated depth and market-by-order data contain different information. Order-level analysis requires compatible order-level data; importing tick prices does not create missing MBO events. Order-book displays represent the events and displayed liquidity available in the supplied dataset. They do not reveal all hidden liquidity, market participants or trading intent. Feed interruptions, entitlement limits and incomplete recordings can affect the reconstruction.
Indicators are model outputs
Labels for sweeps, absorption, hidden-liquidity patterns or other market behaviour depend on rules and assumptions. They can be wrong or incomplete and do not establish a participant’s identity, intention or unlawful conduct. Any use of subsequent events to assess an outcome must be distinguished from information available when a signal was calculated.
Review AI-assisted work
An AI assistant can produce incorrect, ambiguous or unsupported rules. Review generated definitions against the current supported schema, inspect the simulation settings and examine the resulting behaviour. Successful file loading does not establish strategy correctness, causality, profitability or suitability.
Screenshots and examples
Examples illustrate software functions. Any result identified as a backtest or simulated trade is simulated and should be read with its data period, assumptions and limitations. An example is not representative of all strategies, instruments or market conditions. Past results, whether actual or simulated, do not reliably predict future results or guarantee profit.
Financial-market risk
If you trade independently outside this research software, financial instruments can involve substantial losses. Leveraged products can, depending on the instrument and applicable protections, expose you to losses beyond your initial deposit. Research software does not remove those risks.
Third-party data and names
Third-party market data, software and product names are subject to their owners’ rights and applicable terms. A reference to an exchange, broker, data provider or trading application describes compatibility or a dataset; it does not by itself imply sponsorship, approval or permission to redistribute data. forexexp and its products are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any exchange or data provider.
