Privacy notice

How we handle personal information for the website, software accounts, licences and support.

1. Who is responsible

This notice is provided by forexexp (“we”, “us”), which runs this website, the software accounts and licence services for its products. For any privacy question or request, write to support@forexexp.com.

2. Access requests and enquiries

The request-access form asks for your name, your email address, the software plan you are interested in and an optional message. We also record the date and the IP address the form was sent from, to protect the form against abuse. We use this information to answer you and to set up software access if we agree to it. Each email address can send one request.

Please do not include passwords, API keys, brokerage credentials or financial information in your message.

3. Software accounts and licences

When we create a software account for you, we keep:

  • Account: your name (shown as the licence holder), email address, whether it has been verified, your password in a one-way hashed form (we cannot read it), and sign-in security records such as failed attempts and temporary locks.
  • Licence: the product and plan, start and end dates, any trial dates and whether a licence has been revoked.
  • Devices: for each computer that signs in, an identifier derived from that computer, the computer name and operating system it reports, the software version, and when it was first and last seen. Your plan sets how many computers can be used.
  • Sessions: when the software signed in, its regular licence checks, and the IP address it signed in from.
  • Trials: to give each person and computer only one free trial, we keep a one-way hash of your email address and the computer identifier.
  • Security records: important account events, such as sign-ins from the software, password changes, licence changes and downloads from the account area, with date and IP address.

We use this information to provide the software you asked for: to sign you in, check your licence, apply your plan’s limits and keep your account secure.

4. The software on your computer

  • Market data, recordings, charts, strategies, backtests and simulated trades are processed by the software on your computer. They are not sent to us, except files you choose to upload to the library (section 6).
  • If you connect the software to a market-data service, your login for that service is kept by the software on your computer. Our servers never receive it.
  • If you turn on Telegram alerts, the software sends the alert text and chart image from your computer directly to Telegram, to the chat you set up. These messages do not pass through our servers; Telegram handles them under its own terms and privacy policy.
  • The software contacts our servers to sign in, check your licence, look for updates, read product news and use the library. These requests carry your account and device information described in section 3.

5. Crash reports and usage statistics (optional)

The software asks for your permission before sending either of these, and you can change your choice in its settings at any time.

  • Crash reports contain the software version, a hashed device identifier, a technical description of the error and a small crash file with the state of the software’s threads and the list of its components when it failed. The crash file does not include the contents of the software’s memory, and the report must not contain trading data, strategies, passwords, data-feed logins or file paths. The software shows you what will be sent before sending it.
  • Usage statistics contain, per day, the software version, a hashed device identifier, minutes of use, the names of the features used and how many errors occurred.

We use them only to find and fix faults and to understand which features matter. They are deleted after 90 days.

6. The strategy and indicator library

If you upload a strategy or indicator, we keep the file, its name, description, tags and the author name you choose. Private items are visible only to you. Items you share by link are visible to signed-in users who have the link. Public items are visible to all licensed users after we review them. We also keep ratings and comments you give, reports you send, and which items you downloaded. Before publishing an item, check that its file and description do not contain personal information you do not want to share.

7. Emails

We send only account emails: the link to choose your password, email verification, password reset and account-deletion confirmation. We do not send marketing emails. Our emails do not contain tracking pixels, and their links are not rewritten for tracking.

8. Website, cookies and server logs

This website uses only the cookies it needs to work:

CookiePurposeHow long
fx_accountKeeps you signed in to the account area.Until you close the browser, or 14 days if you choose “Keep me signed in”.
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery…Protects forms against requests forged by other sites.Until you close the browser.

We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media cookies, and the website loads no content from other companies: its fonts, images and scripts are served from our own server.

Like any web server, ours records each request (date and time, IP address, the page requested and the browser’s description of itself) to keep the service secure and to investigate faults. These logs are deleted after 30 days.

9. Who else receives information

  • Hosting: our servers run in a data centre in the United Kingdom operated by iomart Cloud Services Limited.
  • Email delivery: account emails are sent through Postmark (ActiveCampaign, LLC), which processes your email address and the email’s content in the United States to deliver it.

We do not sell personal information or share it for advertising. We take no online payments at present, so no payment provider receives your information. We disclose information to authorities only where the law requires it.

Where the law requires safeguards for sending information to another country, you can ask us about them at support@forexexp.com.

11. Legal grounds

We process account, licence, device and library information because it is needed to provide the software you asked for. We process security records and server logs because we have a legitimate interest in keeping accounts and the service secure. We send crash reports and usage statistics only with your consent, which you can withdraw in the software’s settings. Access requests are handled to answer your enquiry at your request.

12. Your rights

Depending on the law that applies to you, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, or receive it in a portable form, and you can withdraw consent at any time. Write to support@forexexp.com; we may ask for information needed to confirm that the request comes from you. You can also delete your account from the software. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work.

13. Automated decisions and age

Software access is decided by us, not by an automated process. The software automatically applies the limits of your plan, for example the number of computers and whether a free trial is still available. The software is not intended for anyone under 18.

14. Security and changes

Passwords are stored only in a hashed form, connections to our servers are encrypted, signing keys are stored encrypted, and access to our servers is limited to people who need it. No system can be completely secure. We will update this notice when our handling of information changes and show the new date at the top.
